What to pack

  • Layers: breathable shirts, light jacket, warm fleece for nights.
  • Sun kit: hat, scarf, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, lip balm.
  • Footwear: trainers or light hikers for day, sandals for camp.
  • Cash in JOD. ATMs are outside the protected area.
  • Power bank for phones and cameras.
  • Refillable water bottle to reduce plastic.

Entry and passes

Most visitors stop at the Visitor Centre to buy an entrance ticket. If you hold a Jordan Pass and meet the stay requirements, entry to Wadi Rum is included.

Ballooning and stargazing

Sunrise hot air balloon flights operate seasonally and are weather dependent. Wadi Rum skies are famously dark with very low light pollution, ideal for stargazing on clear nights.
